This charming, comfortable sunny two-bedroom house will gladden your heart. Located in the lovely section known as “Guadiana”, it’s a flat easy walk to the Ancha de San Antonio where the famous Instituto Allende (art and language school) is located, plus a myriad of shops, restaurants, art galleries, etc.

Step through the street door to the entry garden (can also double as space for enclosed parking for those with a car), and you enter a home that is a collector’s item all on its own. Folkart and sculpture from all over Mexico has been carefully chosen for the walls of every room, as well as for shelves in unexpected nooks and crannies.

Comfort is the keyword – two overstuffed couches in the living room are arranged near the cheerful tiled fireplace. Matching upholstered chairs, an antique armoire and desk and finally a round dining table and comfortable rattan chairs make this an inviting room for lounging and entertaining. Television reception includes all the basic channels plus American networks. The living room faces onto a lovely tiled wall patio, with tinkling fountain, flowering vines and plants and plenty of tables, chairs and lounging furniture.

The kitchen is colorfully tiled with shelves, drawers and cupboards stocked with dishes, cookware, glasses, flatware – everything you’ll need for yourself or entertaining friends. There’s a frig, stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot.

The second floor contains the master bedroom with queen sized bed, and tub/shower bath ensuite. What a pretty view from the bedroom casement window! The twin bedded guest room has a small balcony with plants – and the adjacent guest bathroom is handsomely tiled with a large stall shower.

From the bedroom floor go up a few steps to the third level to the roof terrace - complete with tables and chairs to enjoy wonderful views of bouganvilla covered walls and gardens, church spires and beautiful San Miguel sunsets. There’s a built-in closet for the washer/dryer around the corner of the roof deck. Maid service is twice per week, but can be for more days if required.
