Accommodations: 4-6 adults, in two master suites and small third bedroom and bath

Perched on a hillside just four blocks up from the central Jardin, Casa Amani (Swahili for "peace") is indeed a place that greets and welcomes its guests. The home will thrill you with its breath-taking views in all directions, not only from the broad roof terrace, but from balconies and through floor-to ceiling windows on the lower two levels as well. Just completed, all furnishings and appliances are brand new, and everything is immaculate. Part of an exclusive group of townhouses in a gated community just a 10 minute walk to the Jardin, this home is sure to please.

There are two ways to get into the home. After walking up a short rock staircase between giant cacti, you can enter on the lower level into the kitchen and pass on to the living/dining area, or you can drive up to the more formal entry hall on the upper level, to go directly to the two master suites, or to take the inner staircase down to the living room.

The large kitchen has bright blue tile counters, an array of wood cabinets, and an army of small appliances: blender, juicer, coffee maker, toaster oven, and microwave. The adjoining utility room has storage space and a washer and dryer. Beyond the utility room, a cozy, bonus bedroom provides twin beds and a tiny but functional tiled bathroom with shower. The kitchen adjoins the dining area, where guests can enjoy the fabulous view out French doors to the balcony during breakfast, lunch or dinner. The dining area flows into the living room where comfortable couches and reclining chairs face a fireplace with gas log insert, an entertainment center with cable TV and DVD/VCR and separate component stereo with fabulous Bose speakers. There is also a guest bath on this level. Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom features a balcony with fantastic views both to the north and west, a fireplace (again with gas insert), a king-sized bed with Sealy mattress, and a tiled bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. A desk set into a recess next to the fireplace provides a high-speed internet connection, as well as a VoIP phone with free direct access for calls to / from the US or Canada, that is included in the rental price. Across the hall, the second bedroom also has a king-sized bed and a completely-tiled bathroom with shower. Both bedrooms have deluxe special-order Sealy matresses and heavy drapes to keep out the sun if you wish to sleep late.



There is a spiral staircase outside the front door which takes you to the roof terrace where you will find incredible 360 degree views: of the town below, the hillside of multi-colored homes to the north, the large shining reservoir to the west, and the blue mountains of Guanajuato on the horizon. Table and chairs, as well as a lounge chair provide the perfect place to enjoy the nearly continuous sunshine.

Use of the community pool and weight room are included in the rental. A trainer is available, or you can start each day with spinning classes, if you wish. The maid, Margarita, comes five times weekly from 9am - 12pm. A professional manager that is on-call if you have any problems.

Rates (in US Dollars):

High-Season:
(Dec. 15 – April 15, July and August):
$ 2,800 per month

Low-Season:
$ 2,400 per month
$ 750 per week
$ 150 per night (4 night limit)


Holiday Rates - $ 1,350 per week
(Christmas, New Year's, Easter or Thanksgiving)

Note: Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice. All rates plus 6% Lodgers' Tax.

Rates include a utility allowance of $150 / month, or $50 / week.

There is a phone / damage deposit of $600 for a week's stay, or $1,000 for a month's stay. This deposit is refunded, less charges, upon receipt of the final phone bill, usually within 2 months.
