Architectural details delight the eye, such as the oriel window next to the front door, and the traditional shell design of colonial era Mexico sculpted into wall niches. As you enter, to the right of the entry hall is a whimsically decorated powder room –across the hallway to the left is the light, bright kitchen, complete with breakfast area seating and all the conveniences needed for ease of cooking and entertaining - microwave, toaster oven, stove with griddle, full sized refrigerator, electric coffee pot, etc. A swinging door off the kitchen takes you to through the small pantry area and into the dining area at the south end of the living room.

An enchanting garden view greets you as you enter the living room with its comfortable sofa and chairs flanking a traditional sculpted stone fireplace. This spacious, high ceiling room is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. French doors lead you into the garden with outdoor seating.

Upstairs the master bedroom suite overlooks the garden. A gas fireplace provides cheery heat on chilly winter nights and mornings. Recessed bookcases line the far wall. The adjoining bath has a full sized tub and shower. Across the hallway and to the left of the master bedroom is the second floor study. Here you can watch tv, write letters or work at your computer. Another bath, with shower, adjoins this room, turning it into a guest room for your occasional visitor.

A graceful tiled stairway takes you from the second to the third floor guest bedroom suite with garden view and the trees and hills beyond. This sun-filled, warm and pleasant room also has a fireplace, twin beds, and a full bath with tub and shower. A hallway to the right leads to a family room – an oasis for the writer/artist in your group – or the youngsters with their own music or tv program favorites.

The roof terrace is just above, it’ glassed-in entry opening up to the breathtaking views of San Miguel’s famous colonial era architecture – the Parroquia and the domes and spires of its historic buildings are spread out before you like a welcoming invitation to go exploring!

Casa Belle Monde is just minutes from the Ancha de San Antonio and the famous art and language school, the Instituto Allende – and a further easy flat walk of about 8 to 10 minutes takes you to the center of town. You will fall in love with the quiet and comfort of Casa Belle Monde, a beautiful world that can be your “home base” for many visits to come.
