Just
what knowledgeable visitor to San Miguel is looking
for: an old colonial house, right in the center of
town... They're scarce as hen's teeth, but here you
have one. This gracious home has been in the same
family for over 50 years. They've enjoyed every minute
of it, and now, after a careful renovation, they'd
like to share it with you. |

There
are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the ground
floor (although there are a few steps, as in all colonial
homes) at the rear of the property, so it is very
quiet. This bedroom has a sitting room with fireplace,
a TV, lots of closets and an ensuite bathroom. The
bed is a queen, with a new mattress. The second and
third bedrooms are up a flight of outside stairs.
They each have a bathroom, although the third bathroom
requires one to go outside to reach the door. One
bedroom has a queen bed and the other two twins, all
with new mattresses.

From
the second bedroom there is access to two terraces,
which have lounge furniture, perfect for relaxing
and enjoying the superb view. Immediately upon entering
into the high ceiling entry hall, one finds a 1/2
bath on the right. Upon entering the first patio,
with its bubbling fountain (more than ornamental in
past years, as it was the source of all the water
for the house in the 18th and 19th centuries), you
will find a comfortable seating area under the arches
that surround half the patio. There are glass doors
that enter into the large formal living room, complete
with authentic chandeliers, a fireplace and formal
chairs as well as overstuffed couches. Also from the
patio, you can enter the dining room, with a table
and chairs for 8. The kitchen with a breakfast table
and the original tile is off the dining room. The
dining room also accesses the back patio with a table
and chairs for al fresco dining. |

All
this, right in the middle of town, only 1/2 block
from the main square (called the Jardin) and the famous
"Blue Door" bakery. Also, just a block from
a wonderful market, La Bonanza, as well as dozens
of restaurants, museums, shops and art galleries...
The perfect setting for an interesting and outstanding
visit to San Miguel.

and a washer and dryer. The maid comes two days a
week, Tuesday and Friday, three-four hours a day.
Ysidro, the handy man/gardener, comes twice a week.
The property is professionally managed by an English
speaking manager, Leonor.
