Casa Elaine is a sunny, pleasant and comfortable two-bedroom, 2 bath house, located in the central district, close to the famed Biblioteca, the not-for-profit library, theater and cultural center. Just a short, flat walk to the south and you’re in El Jardin, San Miguel’s central plaza, meeting friends, sharing a bench with other visitors to this enchanted and endlessly fascinating city. Or, take a right turn at the end of your block to the north, and you are in one of San Miguel’s most charming and colorful neighborhoods on Calzada de la Aurora, home to cafes, shops, art and papier mache studios, an organic produce store and restaurant, and, a favorite for visitors from all over the world, the fabulous art and antiques center, Fabricia de la Aurora.

As you enter Casa Elaine, the sunny patio opens onto the glassed in kitchen and dining area to the left, and the cozy living room to the right. The fireplace is flanked by comfortable upholstered sofa and chairs – in a corner there’s a cushioned inglenook for lounging, reading and watching TV. A half bath is off the living room, and there’s a recessed alcove with a desk.

Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, and an office/sitting room up a few steps. The secnd bedorom has twin beds, which can be joined to make a king size bed. On the third level is a small artist's studio, and the entry to the roof deck, with comfortable chairs, a shaded area, and a variety of plants.

Among the amenities are cable TV, DVD and VCR players, and a collection of VHSmovies, whole house wi-fi, well equipped kitvhen, books and art galore. There is a laundry room with a sink, although the convenient same-day laundry three doors down is the place everyone uses!

The house is cared for by Maria, a very helpful and reliable housekeeper. You’ll love the relaxed ease of your vacation stay at Casa Elaine – and want to come back time and again.
