The artist owners of Casa Italia live part of the year here and the rest of the time in Italy – no wonder they imported their talent for design and color to this lovely home they have recently built in the Ojo de Agua section of San Miguel, just a few minutes from Parque Juarez and el centro.

A thoroughly modern kitchen with dishwasher, purified water system, and beautiful tiled walls make meal preparation a delight. Housekeeper Ana Maria, who works Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 to 4 pm is herself a marvelous cook of Mexican dishes! The sunny kitchen overlooks the garden at the front of the house where there is a paved area for secure parking – the living room, dining room and computer room overlook the garden at the back – which is complete with bubbling fountain made by San Miguel artisans in the style of an ancient baptismal font, lush plantings and a covered sala for peaceful quiet relaxing, as well as outdoor dining...

Comfortable overstuffed sofas flank the lovely cantera fireplace in the living room – and antiques and colorful artwork give the living , dining room and entry hall a serene, timeless feeling.

A broad stairway off the entry hall takes you to the second floor master bedroom suite with king bed and a spectacular boveda ceiling and luxurious adjoining bath. On this same floor is the Queen bedroom with remarkable tapestry at the headboard and a twin-bedded guest room. These bedrooms are separated by a spacious “Jack and Jill” bath, complete with tub and shower.

The two-tiered roof terrace with its stunning views of La Parroquia, San Miguel’s landmark “wedding cake” church. Lounge chairs as well as an umbrella table and chairs make this a perfect spot for sunset entertaining. You’ll love Casa Italia, and it will love you right back!!
