Casa La Quinta is perfect for writers and/or artists who want a beautiful house and garden in an upscale neighborhood, plus a handy location close to the Instituto (with its surrounding galleries, restaurants and shops) and downtown. It’s a 7-minute walk to the Instituto or a 12-minute walk to the Jardin… And a bus line runs half-block from the house to downtown or, on the other end, to La Luciernaga Mall with supermarket, banks, restaurants, movie theaters, Office Depot, dry goods/clothing store (similar to Macy’s or Dillard’s), specialty stores, even a McDonald’s, etc. You can get a taxi home from the Mall with all your purchases for about 30 pesos (US$2.40)

Casa La Quinta is absolutely in tip-top condition: with a cheerful maid (4 days a week) and gardener. It has a desirable cook’s kitchen with sunny French doors into the outside eating area, a dream of a master bedroom with en suite bath upstairs, and an outside terrace, a second bedroom/bath downstairs, study (and bath) across the entrance patio, and a living/dining room with French doors out to for garden… Everything you could want for graceful and convenient living.

The brilliant breakfast room off the kitchen is one of the most pleasant places to have a meal in all of San Miguel… Outside in the garden, is the roofed garden house with grill: an entertaining host’s delight. The garden has not only flowers, bushes, vines and trees, but useful herbs as well, and sports a fountain and paths to an umbrella table and chairs tucked beside the outside staircase leading to the master suite.

The kitchen, with every known cuisine device artfully displayed around the counters of stove and sink, is a chef’s dream… Beyond the kitchen is a laundry room and pantry. An interior door leads to the dining room with a 10-ft-long table and 8 chairs, sunlit by floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors facing south onto the garden… A handsome fireplace serves both the dining room and comfortable living room, with couch topped by an impressive mirror and massive, red arm chairs…

Off the living room, down the book-case lined hallway, is a full guest bathroom at one end. At the other end is a queen-sized bedroom, with a large closet and en suite bathroom with shower.

Across the fancifully-arched entrance patio, with its heavy street doors, is a office with Internet access for your computer. This study has a spare bed and an en suite bathroom with shower, for extra guest.

The upstairs belongs to the beautiful master suite including queen-sized bed, en suite bathroom with tub/shower, and a private terrace outside, with table and chairs…
