CASA
LAS BOVEDAS
Accommodations:
Downstairs: a bed-sitting room with one king size bed; upstairs,
a curtained, balcony bedroom with one double bed.

There's something about Las Bovedas that is both inviting
and genteel. For instance, it is ideal for two as
a honeymoon hide-away, being just the right size and
offering secluded privacy. A honeymoon couple will
love the convenience of the location.
This apartment
is also perfectly suitable for a family of 3-4, including
teenagers and pre-teens. Families will appreciate
the proximity to language schools and the Botanical
Garden, shopping and restaurants.
Las Bovedas
is a commodious and excellently furnished apartment.
This warm home is convenient to the Jardin (the center
of town, just three blocks away), while remaining
quiet and peaceful, a world away from the hustle and
bustle of San Miguel Centro. If you want the ambience
of Mexico, and the comforts of a restful home not
too far from the center of town, Las Bovedas is for
you.

Lovely
Upper Terrace
|
| Outside
the front door, there is a private welcoming patio
with comfortable chairs and small tables for al fresco
dining or painting activities.
The
upper deck, open to ideal weather year round, provides
the perfect perspective for enjoying the artwork on
the walls surrounding the cozy complex. |
|
|
The beauty of the high domed brick ceiling, which
is called a "boveda" in Mexico, is captivating.
Streaming light from the bay window fills you with
contentment. The tile floors are polished to resemble
old leather, and a tall-chimneyed gas fireplace is
set into a rugged rock wall. Comfortable furnishings
complete the striking and welcoming room. |
|
|
| |
| On
the far side, a broad bay window frames a view over
the trees to the rooftops and church spires of downtown.
You will find it hard to believe that you're just
a ten minute walk from the very center of San Miguel.
Careful attention to architectural and decorative
details makes this room the perfect place to entertain
guests at night, or to spend a few relaxing hours
in front of the fireplace, reading or watching the
TV or the VCR. |
|
| On
the other side of the great room and under the balcony
bedroom, is a king sized bed and two massive antique
carved armoires.
Book
cases and art work adorn the walls. The fully tiled
bathroom with shower is also conveniently located
in this area. For people who are comfortable in open
rooms, this apartment is ideal. The high domed ceilings
and the quality of light lend a feeling of spaciousness. |

Up
the spiral staircase and under another boveda ceiling,
is a loft bedroom with a double bed. It can comfortably
sleep one adult; one teenager; or two responsible,
younger children. It can also be used as a private
getaway area for reading or relaxing. A desk next
to the window allows a wonderful view while working
on your postcards. There are more
bookcases here, as well as an additional TV.
|
|
| The
dining room is situated between the living room and
the kitchen. It has comfortable seating for 4-6 at
a round table, highlighted by a lovely and graceful
chandelier of punched tin, visible under the arched
doorway into the living room. |
|
|

|
Ample
cabinets and shelves are supplied with Dansk and Mexican
dishes, as well as colorful glassware. All modern
appliances, from a gas stove, to a good sized refrigerator,
toaster oven, blender, coffee maker and microwave
are provided. Conveniently located in front of the
large arched window is a pleasant breakfast area overlooking
the tree shaded private patio, the entryway into the
apartment.
The
amiable owner is nearby to answer your questions or
handle any problems you might have. All utilities
are included in the rent, as well as basic cable TV
and maid service twice a week. Long distance phone
calls and excess gas/electric usage will be deducted
from the phone/damage deposit. The owner requests
that you treat his home as you would your own place.
If anything gets broken, please let him know, so he
won't blame the maid.
You'll go home with unforgettable memories after staying
in Las Bovedas, and who knows! Maybe you'll be back
the next year.
