Rosita is indeed a "rosy cottage" perfect
for two adults. A private, secluded little house with
a gorgeous garden, it is located directly across the
street from the Puertecita Hotel beside the woodsy Atascadero
arroyo. Inside the pink door off the street, you enter
a pretty living room with fireplace (with a warm gas
heater) and 2 couches. Beyond is the pleasant tiled
kitchen, with coffee maker, small refrigerator, gas
cooktop and toaster oven. Around the corner is a beautiful
tiled guest bath, which also has a tub and shower.

Up a few steps, a sunny atrium/dining area, will
have you lingering over your coffee in the mornings.
The bedroom, further upstairs, features two double
beds and has great cross ventilation from the
large window overlooking the garden and smaller
windows up near the ceiling on the opposite wall.
There is a second bathroom with a shower just
off the bedroom. |

| Outside
in the walled and tree-shaded garden, a table and chairs
invites al fresco dining by the burbling fountain. It's
a 15-20 minute walk to downtown from the Casita Rosita.
You can hike back up in about half an hour, if you are
in good shape (or want to ACHEIVE good shape while you're
here) or hail one of the ubiquitous taxis for 15 to
20 pesos (US$1.35 to $1.80). It's also the same distance
to the Real de Conde Mall, which has a large grocery
store, as well as two movie theaters. Take a taxi back
with your groceries for the same 15 to 20 pesos. For
a pleasant hour or two, take a picnic lunch to the Botanical
Garden, another 15 or 20 minutesaway.
