"When I first saw this house, I couldn't resist it. It was brand new but still retained the charm of old San Miguel with arches, high wood-beamed ceilings and talavera tile accents. It has good light coming through the windows and is so spacious. The year-round outdoor living is ideal with 3 terraces, one leading out from the dining area, a big one leading out from the master bedroom and the top one with magnificent views of the Monjas dome and the San Juan de Dios church steeples. It's a beautiful ambiance surrounded by mature trees, verdant bushes and a gurling fountain with bamboo. Many brightly colored birds and hummingbirds make the trees their homes. "

Open the antique wooden door in the rustic stone wall--on a quiet street only four short blocks from the central Jardin, a 7-minute walk--and there sits Casa Las Terrazas, surrounded by its garden and tall trees, welcoming you and your friends or family to a comfortable vacation retreat...

Pass the burbling fountain and mount the step to the first of the terraces--an arch-lined front porch. Enter into the peach-colored dining/living room, with a wood-beamed ceiling, the colorful table set for six, and the blue velvet, over-stuffed furniture grouped around the friendly fireplace. There is a TV with a VCR, and speakers for your I-Pod.

On your left, you find the kitchen, completely stocked with pots, pans, cutlery and glasses and dishes. Admire all the sunlight provided the big window over the sink.

At the back of the house on the ground floor are a guest bathroom, a guest bedroom with a double sleigh bed, and another bedroom with double bed and a bath with shower has a long window out into a tiny patio.

Upstairs, is the master bedroom, with queen bed and master bath with bathtub... and entrance to the star of the house: a sunny/shady terrace with lounge chairs and a umbrella table and chairs, underneath the arching trees... Behind a wall is a washer/dryer... and stairs to the roof terrace, which has a beautiful view of the church sprires.

This is a prime location, close to the wonderful San Juan de Dios market, together with blocks of surrounding shops with absolutely EVERYTHING. And the house is a block or so from the Warren Hardy language school, restaurants, and interesting old (but still functional) churches. Getting around town is so easy with an abundance of taxis, and the local bus stops just a block away.

The maid and gardener work 2 half-days a week. If you have any trouble, Casa Las Terrazas is professionally managed by La Casa, available with a call, night or day. The central location, only for 4 blocks from the central Jardin, makes your full enjoyment of San Miguel complete.

Come and enjoy San Miguel for a week, or a six-month sabbatical, in Casa Las Terrazas... But, be careful: you may want to stay forever!!

Rent includes all utilites up to $75 a month... The gas tank will be full when you get there, but the maid will tell the tenant when it needs refilling. The gas company requires cash immediately, when they deliver. The maid will shop, cook and serve brunch and comida for for 200 pesos/day extra plus the cost of food, on her regular days, if you ask her in advance.
